Our story
A dynasty of churreros, generation after generation
La Tradición desde 1920 is a family churrería-café in Miraflores. For generations we have kept the craft our elders passed down — tejeringos, coffee and sandwiches made the traditional way.
I was born in 1974 and, as a child, I was already surrounded by stoves in my parents' business. Many weekends I went to my grandparents' churrería in Las Lagunillas (La Victoria, Málaga), where I was lucky enough to see tejeringos carried on a cane.
At 13 I started working with my aunt Margari at weekends at the Los Palomares stall, where I took my first steps as a churrero. Later I completed my training with my parents at the Portada Alta market churrería, which is still open today.
Over time I saw the chance to open a churrería-café that brought together everything I had learned. That is how this project was born, honouring a multi-generational family journey and still serving the product my great-great-grandparents, grandparents, aunts and parents have defended for so many years.
Today we are in Miraflores de los Ángeles with the same enthusiasm as ever: good coffee, good sandwiches and tejeringos made with the recipe we were taught at home, not just flour and oil.
